Flesh-colored granny bras are so NOT the way to go!

So, if you claim you are somewhat a fashionista, then you should know better than to break the basic rules, right?

Just the other day, my eyes were subjected to horrendous torture by a self-proclaimed fashionista who somehow, by mere accident, or, maybe she hit her head and couldn't think right, or... ok, I really don't know what kinda excuses I can assume for her crime.

As I was saying, if you claim you're a fashionista, you wouldn't, for the life of you, walk out of your house dressed in a seriously ugly flesh-colored granny bra underneath a white tank top WITHOUT removing the bra straps, hence showing the whole wide world the ugliness of it, right? And, you wouldn't top this combo with a greenish, faded, washed-out, flowery, table cloth-like super short dress, right?? And... you wouldn't complete the whole nasty combo with platforms with wooden heels so big and chunky, they look like they are able to harvest termites in it, right???

And guess where I caught sight of this ghastly combo... In an OFFICE!!

Shock! Shudder!!

Don't know about you. I simply cannot stand the atrocity!! Even fashion-challenged Betty Suarez would have the good sense to remove THOSE bra straps before getting out of the house.

Suggestion to so-called fashionista, flesh-colored granny bras are so NOT the way to go, not now, not EVER! So, do the world a favor and discard them in the deepest of deep ocean or burn them into the ashiest of ashes, coz NOBODY wanna see 'em at all!! Ok? Get it?? And, wearing a table-cloth in public? Unless you're auditioning for the role of a table in a local play, DON'T even think of doing that again.

I rest my case.

Shopaholic's Dream

Finally...

Hollywood decided to make a movie on the 'Shopaholic' series. Although I'm not too sure with the casting of the female and male leads, I am definitely giving 2 thumbs-up on the wardrobe styling for every character in the film! The clothes are gorgeous and so personifies the individuals in the movie!!

How I wish I have a closet full of these:-Classy fashion editor and bitchy fashion assistant with shopaholic...

I think Jennifer Aniston could have made a better Becky Bloomwood.

But over time, Isla Fisher grew on me...

If only I could shop til I drop like her...

And be able to pull off all these outrageous outfits...

Not So Ugly Betty

She's back!!
Mode's fav assistant to the editor-in-chief is back. 3rd year at Mode and still, Betty Suarez' style have not changed the least bit! Sporting colorful, mismatched, loud outfits, bushy eyebrows, unkempt hair and signature braces, Betty is still an eyesore. And, I'm begining to get a bit tired of her ever chirpy, incessantly annoying voice and 'oh-i'm-just-so-positive-&-good' attitude.

So, my focus on the show now are actually Amanda, Mark and Wilhemina. These 3 never fail to crack me up with laughter over their outrageous antics and each week, I look forward to seeing what they'd be wearing. Oh, fashion at it's best when it comes to the dressing of these 3 characters. Guess who was roped in to do the styling for this season? The mother of all stylists, Patricia Fields. No wonder the fashionable ones in the show are so super... urm... fashionable this season!

Sure, Wilhemina's style might be slightly OTT sometimes, but what the heck. The woman's now co-editor-in-chief of the fictional fashion bible of NYC, so she's she's allowed to overdress and suffocate herself in all the luxurious animal prints and mink she can get her manicured claws on.

I would love to play dress up like this to go hunting... If I ever do go hunting...

My take on Season 3's wardrobe:

Love anything on Amanda, Mark and Wilhemina
Daniel Meade ~ no comment
Claire Meade ~ Her outfits seem to be wearing her more than she wearing them. They look too big for her skinny frame
Hilda Suarez ~ not too sure about her. Seems too 'Queens' to me
Ugly Betty ~ the word 'ugly' says it all...
All other characters ~ didn't make any lasting impression on me

Somebody please tell this woman to STOP trying too hard!!

David Beckham is one good-looking man with a decent fashion sense. But the same can't be said about wifey Victoria. She seems bent on being famous on her own, rather than via her hubby. So, she tried singing [it failed], acting [she was as wooden as a plank in 'Ugly Betty' season 2 in her cameo], writing [her book is all about 'her opinions and advise' on fashion, which, really, are not that highly regarded] and designing [her line failed to sell coz she wasn't keen on being in shops to promote her clothes]. Hmmm... But this woman doesn't stop. Even though she fails miserably in everything she does [or try doing], she just goes on and on to make herself headline after headline, especially in the fashion department, in which, she is so keen to be an icon.

Sadly, being a fashion icon doesn't mean parading around in super-tight lil outfits and sporting various unimpressive hairstyles [apparently trend-setting to some]. It's more on being talented and creative and having good taste in clothes, which Mrs. Beckham lacks. Also, what's with showing off those boobs of hers so much?? It's obviously FAKE. Really doesn't help in her 'trying-to-be-a-fashion-icon' mission.

Honestly, will you dress like this? Or consider this stylish?

I definitely won't! Not to offend any Victoria's fans out there, but, personally, I think this woman should just stay at home and do what she does best: starving herself stick-thin, looking like a miserable cow most of the time, making babies and being a devoted wife and mother and stop trying at things she's just not good at.

Obviously super photoshopped. Wonder how much she needs to bend over to score this.

LiLo's Casual Style

Yea yea, she did live up to the image of 'Hollywood Wild Child' with her drunken stints, hard partying lifestyle, rehab stays, sexual preferences, angry catfights in public, etc, etc and the list goes on... And there is nothing about her you would want to make an example of other than maybe her sense of style.

Known to be dressed by celeb stylist, Rachel Zoe for certain occasions, LiLo certainly doesn't need a stylist to dress her for her everyday casual outings. She seems to be quite a style princess when it comes to casual dressing: -

Dig her style. So effortlessly chic yet casual. Especially love her outfit of knee-length boots and colored tights worn with a black leather jacket. Unfortunately, the same can't be said of her partner, Sam Ronson. Maybe she should give Sam a few tips on fashion and style coz she always looks so BORING in her staple t-shirt and jeans combo.

The celebs at the 81st Annual Academy Awards did not disappoint as they turned up looking their best, clad from top to toe in designer gowns and ridiculously expensive jewellery.

Let's start with red carpet favorite, Nicole Kidman. She looked absolutely iridescent in a sparkly, feathery, white L'Wren Scott number.
New tinseltown darling, Frieda Pinto looked gorgeous in a blue 1-shoulder John Galliano gown.

Mamma Mia starlet, Amanda Seyfried was smoking in a red Valentino dress, which complemented her skin tone really well.

The same can't be said about Heidi Klum, though. I can't quite decide whether she looked uncomfortably stiff or fashionably weird in this architectural Roland Mouret number. Just didn't do justice to her curves.

Another disaster on a fab bod! Jessica Biel in a white Prada gown which looked like a giant bath towl wrapped around her body. Definitely didn't help in showing off her famous curves.

Best actress Kate Winslet looked every bit a winner in a grey 1-shoulder Atelier Yves Saint Laurent gown with black lace adorning half the dress.

Marion Cotillard looked resplendent in a full-skirted black Dior gown.

Marissa Tomei shone in her beautiful Versace gown. Absolutely stunning.

The devil wears Alberta Ferretti. Frankly, Meryl could have done better. She is yawn-inducing in this plain dress. Maybe she should seek the help of stylist Patricia Field for the most glamourous event in the movie industry.Penelope Cruz charms in her vintage Pierre Balmain gown. If she had a veil on her head, she could pass off as a bride. Her stylist knows her stuff by making her hair simple and accessorizing her in simple elegant jewellery.

SJP's boobs looked like they're gonna pop out any minute. What's with dressing up in a too-tight Dior gown with a belt??? To accentuate her tiny waist and give the illusion of gigantic boobs? Gawd!! Carrie must be scrambling to hide herself for this fashion faux pas.

Taraji P. Henson wowed us with her performance in The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttin, playing Brad Pitt's mother. Here, she wowed us again with her fashion choice of a tiered Roberto Cavalli gown.

And Tilda Swinton does it again!! By showing up in the most hideous assemble on the red carpet. Again and again, she never fails to get into the worst dressed list. What's wrong with the woman? Is it her personal mission to be the worst dressed in every awards show? Here she is, ladies and gentlement, in all her nightmarish glory, dressed in Lanvin. She should really hire a stylist who could help her pick the right dress and advise her on how to do her hair and makeup which is red carpet worthy.

Dressed in her signature black in Elie Saab, with contrasting emerald earrings and ring, mother of a brood of 6 and Brad Pitt's woman, Angelina Jolie kinda reminded me of 'Morticia Adams' with her hair all swept back and with her somber appearance.

Amy Adams certainly enchants is in this gorgeous red Carolina Herrera number. She looked absoutely radiant and far from the plain nun she was in 'Doubt'.

Alicia Keys can certainly blend in with the rest of the A-listers in her lilac Armani Prive gown. But she should go lighter on the makeup. Her foundation looked like it's a shade too light for her skin, making her look too made up.
